that's why i choose to word it as "contribute to" :> but that's a nice infographic, thanks. makes sense that the main components of the smell don't come from toxic and acid compounds in trace amounts but rather bacterial and plant life.

i wonder if then the smell of rain would be far less intensive on say a rocky mountain or something, where there are mostly rocks and few organic matter.
