yes, i was a bit sloppy in my definition. google puts feminism as "the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes.", which i think neatly merges what we two have written.

and speaking about definitions: i think the term "feminism" makes this whole thing so exhausting. many shy away from it because it's used in sooo many different ways - i am only one example.

but what you described is also called "gender equality" (which i think feminism could / should be considered a subset of) and although internet strangers may be another thing - do you think your friends would more likely agree on your positions if you worked under the label of "(gender) equality"?

i mean, not many people really argue against equality, do they? it would make "the fight" easier and friendlier, i guess.
